Foreign flag vessels over 200 gross tons are subject to compulsory state pilotage in the Port of Brunswick.
American flag vessels over 1600 gross tons are subject to compulsory federal pilotage in the Port of Brunswick.
American flag vessels sailing on registry are treated as foreign flag vessels and are therefore subject to compulsory state pilotage if they are over 200 gross tons.
American flag tank barges greater than 10,000 gross tons are subject to compulsory federal pilotage.
