Job Description

Operations manager.  This is a very non-traditional position from a time-structure standpoint. Our businesses operate 24hrs per day, 365 days per year. The selected candidate will end up working a set number of days on (most likely 4 days on/4days off, or 7 days on/7days off) followed by an equal number of days off.  On weekdays, the candidate will work in the office for approximately 8 hours, then take calls and work remotely for the remainder of the day.  Candidate would most likely end up on-duty approximately half the year.  For the first few months, there will be a required training period where the schedule and compensation will be adjusted accordingly.

Job includes dispatching Harbor Pilots to and from the ships calling on the Port of Brunswick.  It also includes dispatching boat captains to SeaTow jobs.  Every day is different presenting new and unique challenges.

Skills Required

We do not require any special degrees or technical pre-requisites as far as training required.  The candidate needs to have good people skills as he/she will be interacting with the public on the company’s behalf.  Computer skills are a plus, along with good organizational skills, logistical training, multi-tasking, and the ability to remain “on-call” for days at the time.  A good attitude and willingness to learn is a must.

Compensation & Benefits
